Damascus steel and Curly Birch
The ILMAR VISA is a handcrafted timepiece manufactured by brilliant artisans using extraordinary materials.
The watch case, inspired by the rough Nordic landscapes, is made out of hand-forged, stainless Damascus steel. Due to the unique characteristics of this material, each watch case is unique with its own flow and patterns, just like the streams and outcrops of the arctic hills.
The same natural patterns are also on display in the Curly Birch watch faces. These handmade, wooden watch faces have been cut from select pieces of Finnish curly birch tree. Curly Birch is a rare variant of silver birch and it grows mainly in Scandinavia, in parts of Russia, the Baltics and Belarus. Due to the unique patterns of the curly birch grain, each watch-face is one-of-a-kind.
The use of such materials mean that each ILMAR VISA is unique and there are no two pieces alike.
Hand-forged Damascus steel
The ILMAR VISA comes with a watch case and strap buckle made out of hand-forged Damascus steel. This layered steel is crafted by forging together multiple layers of different types of steel. These layers are then folded on top of each other until a unique patterns emerges.
Due to the unique nature of Damascus steel, the same pattern cannot be replicated by hand to precision. Thus, each ILMAR VISA is guaranteed to be one-of-a-kind.
Reindeer leather
All ILMAR VISA watches come with a hand-sewn leather straps made from Finnish reindeer leather. Not only is reindeer leather silky smooth to the touch but it’s also highly durable. Reindeer leather is also highly sustainable and all of the leather used in ILMAR watches are sustainably produced by local tanneries.

Automatic movement
The Swiss-made ETA-2892-A is a timeless classic, and a reliable and accurate self-winding automatic movement.
Due to the wide distribution of ETA movements, ILMAR VISA can be easily serviced by any qualified watchmaker. However, we would be glad to service your watch for you. If your watch is in need of maintenance or repair, please do not hesitate to contact our customer service.
